Green North Karnataka
North Karnataka, locally known as Uttara Karnataka is generally dry with temperatures ranging from 8 °C to 45 °C and an annual rainfall of about 750 mm. The region is consistently experiencing unprecedented hot conditions. Greenri has initiated a 'Green North Karnataka' campaign to address the unbearable mercury level, farmer issues , and water scarcity. With the help of local volunteers, we are working towards developing city forests in this desert region to help check soil erosion, sustainable development, and preserve environment.
Eco-friendly Ganesha
Ganesh Chaturthi ends with the immersion of Ganesha idols made from chemicals and Plaster of Paris (PoP) into the river or sea, which are non-biodegradable and thus, harmful for the aquatic life and water bodies. 'Eco-friendly Ganesha' campaign has been initiated to promote the use of nature-friendly Ganesh idol during Ganesh Chaturthi. Greenri conducts these awareness campaigns across schools, colleges, public places etc and encourages people to adopt eco-friendly methods for disposing of Ganesh idols.
Greenri Nursery
We cannot rely on forest department all the time. Hence Greenri has initiated a ' Greenri Nursery' campaign to create public nurseries which helps to grow saplings and make cities greener. Greenri invites Volunteers, Educational, Government & Corporate societies to create tree nurseries on their open fields. The seeds and polybags required to grow saplings, and the necessary guidance is provided by Greenri with regular follow-ups to supervise and ensure the healthy growth of saplings.
